About the role

An opportunity to join our newly formed and growing in-house legal department alongside our Chief Legal Officer. Your day-to-day will, together with the key responsibilities outlined below, involve working closely with and supporting our land and project development team in a fast-paced, commercial environment. This is a permanent role.

Responsibilities:​

Key responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating Option Agreements, Leases, Land Purchase Agreements, Deeds of Easement and /or Wayleaves to confirm the relevant rights exist for the construction and operation of renewable energy projects.
  • Reviewing registered and unregistered title (including advising on any title remediation requirements and / or title insurance policies).
  • Completing real estate related diligence exercises and preparing Title Reports.
  • Reviewing, negotiating and reporting on Declarations of Identity.
  • Reviewing, inputting into and reporting on Certificates of Title and ancillary documents.
  • Carrying out and reviewing standard transaction searches (for example, title, corporate, solvency etc.)
  • Reviewing and negotiating Maintenance Agreements, Third Party Co-Operation Agreements etc.
  • Liaising with local councils and relevant authorities.
  • Instructing and liaising with external counsel, and counsel of other parties involved in transactions.
  • Collating documents and liaising with stakeholders to complete project finance transactions.
  • Discharging the real estate requirements appearing in Connection Agreements (for example, completing the transfer of sub-stations to ESBN etc.)

  • The capacity to work meticulously within the industry’s professional code of conduct.

  • The ability to perform detailed research.

  • Keen business development and networking skills.
  • Flawless commercial awareness.
  • The ability to work as part of a team made up of legal and non-legal professionals.
  • Experience dealing with ESBN, local authorities and other relevant authorities.
