Justin Brown
Co-CEO

Justin Co-founded Power Capital Renewable Energy and has served as Co-CEO since its inception and now is responsible for engineering, delivery, and technical operations of the company.

Justin’s role involves formulating and executing the company’s strategic vision to establish itself as a leading IPP in both the Irish and international energy markets.

He has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth from the very beginning and remains actively engaged in daily operations.

He has been responsible for the origination and the developing of the portfolio in Ireland since 2015 and was also instrumental in the company’s original acquisition and subsequent disposal of its German solar farms between 2011 and 2016.

He was a founding member of the ISEA in 2014 and served as a board member until 2019.

He holds a Diploma in Quantity Surveying from Abertay University, Scotland and a Diploma in Organizational Development from University College Cork.

Peter Duff
Co-CEO

Peter is Co-CEO and Co-founder of Power Capital Renewable Energy.

He has responsibility for the Legal and Corporate Finance operations of the Company as well as the company’s PPA strategy successfully closing PPAs with Microsoft and Google.

His role involves executing the Company’s development strategy for Power Capital’s transformation from pure developer to IPP.

He was instrumental in the recent acquisition of a US early-stage solar PV development pipeline.

Peter has led the investment and acquisition of 825MWp of pipeline opportunity for Power Capital.

Prior to Co-founding Power Capital, Peter was an investment professional at NCB Stockbrokers (later part of the Investec Group), working for 20 years at senior management level.

Peter holds a degree in Economics and Politics from UCD Dublin. He is a founder member and inaugural committee member of the ISEA.

Bill Senior
Project Delivery Director

Bill is a Chartered Engineer with 18 years experience in the infrastructure and energy sectors, specialising in utility solar PV, engineering and construction. He is responsible for the delivery team and build-out of secured corporate PPA and RESS projects. Bill also served as Treasurer and Board Director of the Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA) from 2020-2023 and visiting professor at Trinity College Dublin.

Caolan Duffy
Chief Commercial Officer

Caolan has 10 years’ experience in financial services, specialising in renewable energy and infrastructure. His expert financial modelling gives us an edge in analysing route-to-market opportunities, CPPA negotiations and mergers and acquisitions. Caolan also takes a meticulous approach to financing plans for funding, and shareholder and lender reports.

Anna has over eight years’ experience in administration services, document control and quality assurance. Anna previously worked for two leading engineering companies in Ireland. Her previous roles included working for Irish Water as a PM coordinator and assistant, and she was also seconded to daa as a part of project management team, working as a document controller on the North Apron early design works.

Cormac O’Brien
Development Planning Manager

Cormac has 30 years’ experience in contracting and consulting in the construction industry, and was a Director of AECOM’s engineering business in Ireland for over 20 years. Coordinating both our internal team and external consultants,  Cormac guides all Power Capital’s projects through the planning process, ensuring they fully comply with planning regulations.

Kevin Gahan
Land Manager/Business Development

Kevin has developed trusted professional relationships with landowners, contractors and local authorities over his many years in the infrastructure and renewable solar technology sector. A Certified Associate in Project Management, Kevin is responsible for identifying suitable greenfield sites and bringing these sites through the planning process. Kevin continuously works to keep our existing and prospective landowners informed, thus ensuring they always feel like key stakeholders in each development.

Magdalena Slusarczyk
Finance Director

Magda Slusarczyk joined Power Capital in October 2022 as Financial Controller.

Magda has had an extensive experience in renewables finance. She worked within the renewable assets space for one of the leading energy companies in Ireland for the past 11 years. Prior to that, she trained with the accountancy practise in Dublin while pursuing her ACCA exams.

Magda is pride of being part of the sustainable business and is keen to add value to the rapidly growing business by providing her insights and effective management of Finance function. Her focus is to create and cultivate the best finance practices to support the key stakeholders and all interlinking parts of the business in the decision making.

Andrew Gleeson
Corporate Finance Senior Associate

Andrew works in the PCRE Corporate Finance team. He works closely with the company founders, Private Equity shareholders and the broader finance team. Andrew’s role involves development and maintenance of detailed financial models at a project and group level to assist with investment decision making, valuations, fundraising and portfolio monitoring. He evaluates potential investment/acquisition opportunities and develops the business cases for presentation at shareholder investment committee. Andrew assists with the development, marketing and management of debt raising processes and managing credit and bank due diligence processes from start to finish

Alan Spillane
Grid Development Manager

Alan is an electrical and development engineer mainly specialising in the management of project origination, pre-development, development activities along with project grid network connections for MV, 38kV and 110kV Loop and Tail-fed connecting projects. He has a BEng. In Electrical Engineering from TUS and a NFQ certificate in Solar Energy Systems. Alan also contributes daily to CAPEX and OPEX management, electrical engineering support on portfolio acquisitions and technical support on various route to market strategies. He is passionate about renewable energy and is focused keenly on delivering high-quality renewable energy infrastructure, with the goal of decarbonising the grid while reducing the lifetime costs to the energy consumer.

Rai Augusto Silva
Solar Design Electrical Engineer

Rai Augusto Silva gained his knowledge, working in few companies back in Brazil. He is a Solar Design Electrical Engineer, who has built his career around solar energy. With more than 1.2 GWp in its portfolio, he has extensive knowledge in planning, design, execution, and commissioning of small, medium and large scale projects. Rai was involved in all the constructive stages of a solar plant.

Gabriel Galan
Procurement and EPC Director

Gabriel is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. Joining PCRE as EPC Manager and Contracts Lead, Gabriel brings international expertise and a strong background in contract negotiation and management, project delivery and business development. Gabriel has led and successfully concluded negotiations of multiple contracts, including EPC, O&M and supply agreements, for more than 5GW of energy projects developed throughout Europe, America, Asia and Africa.

Gabriel’s responsibilities include leading procurement for new projects, planning strategies for purchasing, contract management and risk mitigation, supervising the implementation of those strategies and negotiating new agreements with different stakeholders for our projects.

Olivia Abell
Chief Legal Officer

Olivia is responsible for overseeing the legal function at Power Capital, including property, finance, and construction workstreams.  Olivia has experience advising developers and contractors in relation to large scale energy and infrastructure transactions, with a specific focus on the development and construction of renewable energy projects. Her experience to date, and her understanding of the commercial drivers of each of the key parties involved in transactions of this nature, make Olivia a technically astute yet pragmatic lawyer.  Prior to joining Power Capital, Olivia worked as a Senior Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction and Utilities team at Arthur Cox LLP.  Olivia is dual qualified in the jurisdictions of England & Wales and Ireland.

Matthew Keane

Matthew works in the PCRE Corporate Finance team. His role involves the development and maintenance of detailed financial models at a project and group level to assist with corporate decision making. He is involved across all stages of processes to raise new capital for the business. He also engages in sourcing, evaluating, structuring and executing investments/acquisitions for Power Capital. Prior to joining Matthew worked in investment banking where he focused on M&A and debt advisory within the energy and infrastructure sector.

Alan Fox
Senior Financial Accountant

Alan joined Power Capital in May 2023 and works as a Senior Financial Accountant in the finance team. He has 8 years of experience in finance and is qualified chartered accountant following the completion of the ACA exams in 2018. As senior financial accountant, he focuses on month/year end reporting and financial reporting procedures, ensuring finance processes and procedures are robust and effective as Power Capital grows and assets become operational, and closely collaborates with the construction and operations teams. Having previously worked in the renewable energy sector, he brings a wealth of sectoral expertise in an area which he has a great interest and passion for.

Site Development Surveyor and Negotiator

Fergus is a Site Development Surveyor and Negotiator specialising in environmental management, landscape design and forestry. Through various roles he has gained invaluable experience dealing with landowners and stakeholders in project design and development. He has a BSc. (Hons) in Land Management and a BSc in Forestry from SETU. Fergus is part of the development team responsible for identifying greenfield projects and generating leads in key areas of interest for solar development. He is passionate about agricultural & rural sustainability and is focused on bringing new land-use offerings to market for all landowners with the goal of more diversified rural and agricultural incomes.

James joined Power Capital in May 2023 and works as a SiteManager. He has 32 years’ experience in the construction sector in Ireland, the UK and the Netherlands. He has extensive experience of effectively managing teams on projects in: ESB substations; grid connections; civils and the renewable energy sector. James is passionate about fostering strong stakeholder relationships and adopts a collaborative approach to ensure the delivery of complex projects.

Dennis Dolan
Site Manager

Dennis Dolan is a competent and self-motivated construction site manager with 35 years’ experience within the construction industry with a focus on renewable energy projects for the last 15 years both in solar and wind technologies throughout Ireland, UK and Northern Europe. Proven track record delivering challenging projects with high focus on safety, quality, budget and programmes. Able to form good interpersonal relationships across all stakeholders involved.

Development Analyst

Lizzie transitioned to a full-time role at PCRE after completing her internship with us in the summer of 2023. She brings a background in civil engineering and a strong passion for sustainable energy solutions. She recently graduated from Trinity College Dublin, where she obtained her master’s degree, specializing in solar energy as part of her Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering program. In her capacity as a Development Analyst, Lizzie will leverage her enthusiasm for solar energy by concentrating on identifying suitable greenfield sites for solar projects, creating detailed maps, and navigating the intricacies of obtaining planning permissions for the development of solar farms. Additionally, she will play a crucial role in supporting the team’s efforts in engineering, planning and management to ensure the successful integration of other projects within our portfolio into the grid.

Jack transitioned to a full-time role at PCRE after completing his internship with us in the summer of 2023.  He has just completed a Masters in Renewable Energy and Environmental Finance from the UCD Smurfit Graduate School of Business. He also has a BCOMM (Global Experience) degree from University of Galway. His role involves the development and maintenance of detailed financial models at a project and group level to assist with corporate decision making. Jack assists with the development, marketing and management of debt raising processes and managing credit and bank due diligence processes from start to finish.

He is passionate about renewable energy and is keen to help work towards the Net Zero 2050 target.
