About the Company

Power Capital Renewable Energy (PCRE) is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) established in Ireland in 2011 (www.powercapital.ie). The company has a development portfolio of Solar and BESS projects of over 2GW in Ireland. Currently the company is constructing 230MW of Solar PV in Ireland. Following on recent success in the RESS 2 auction we will commence construction on a further 300MW in 2023/2024. We continue to focus on our domestic growth strategy whilst expanding our international presence in both Europe and the USA, including the recent acquisition and integration of a US based development team with >3GW of Solar PV under development across several States. Power Capital is offering the opportunity to the successful candidate, to become part of a high growth company in the fast-moving renewables sector.

About the Role

In this role you will lead the pre-contract services procurement and commercially manage the delivery of pre-contract services. The services procured will include, among others, Owners Engineer, Site Investigation and Soft Landscaping. Additionally, the successful candidate will support in the procurement and contract management of EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) Solar Farm Contracts and EBOP (Electrical Balance of Plant) Substation and Grid Contracts.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years full time experience in solar and/or main contracting procurement and commercial management experience. A commercially minded candidate with a relevant procurement and/or quantity surveying third level education desired.

This is a permanent role, primarily based in our Dublin office, with travel as required.

Responsibilities:​

Main responsibilities

  • Scope Development: Drafting of Pre-Contract Services Packages for Owners Engineer, Soft Landscaping and Site Investigation.
  • Procurement Evaluation: Price Evaluation of differing quotations on a like for like
  • Presentation: Presentation and recommendation of procurement options to senior
  • Contract Execution: Drafting and negotiating contracts including agreement of contract conditions, programmes, and scope of works.
  • Value Engineering: Reviewing options to provide better value to the company in relating to the procurement options available.
  • Better Buying: Reviewing, identifying, and selecting suitable options to better buy
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all projects are delivered to the highest safety
  • Contract Negotiations: Ensuring best value is sought and achieved for all proposed
  • Contract Management: Ensure programme, commercial, quality and health and safety is tracked and risks identified during the delivery of contracts.
  • Commercial/Change Management: During the delivery of projects/contracts ensure any change is diligently reviewed in time and negotiated accordingly.
  • Billing Management: Tracking, assessing and certifying contractor applications for payment and always ensuring, the cost position is known.
  • Monthly Cost Reporting: Experience in compiling on time monthly cost reports including CVR (Cost Value Reports) and CFF (Cash Flow Forecasts).

Education and experience

  • Experience working with PV regulated
  • Technical knowledge of other technologies (offshore wind, CSP, H2, etc).
